After years of being bookmarked, I FINALLY made it to Perch!!! Located in DTLA, parking was super easy valet right on front of the restaurants building. After being directed to 2 different elevators, we made it to the hostess desk. They weren't very friendly, but I wasn't expecting them to be. We had reservations and were seated at a table never to the wall. Not the best view, but not the worst. I'm sure the view is beautiful at night, but I'm the light of day it's 'cute' (LOL)! Definitely not the best view of LA, but not the worst. Since the hostesses are kinda rude, I was pleasantly surprised to have a great waiter. We ordered Benedicts and Burgers and everything was yummy! All in all, a lovely brunch on a rooftop in LA. If I do decide to give them another try I'll definitely go at night.

We arrived during happy hour at 5 PM and were seated outside. The happy hour drink menu was pretty limited--just one cocktail option and some beers--so we ended up ordering the regular Berry La cocktail instead. The drinks were refreshing but not very strong. For food, we had fries and tuna tartare, both of which were enjoyable. The overall vibe was nice, and the location in downtown offers a good view. There's also a rooftop bar on the 16th floor, which seems like a cool spot to check out next time. Would come back for the ambiance, but I'd love to see more variety on the happy hour menu!

this was a fun dineLA experience at a more upscale place with 3 friends. made a reservation for sat 7PM but it took another 15 minutes before we were seated. our table was outdoors but not cold at night with the coverings which blocked the winds and light LA rain. set dineLA 2025 was $65/person and i was quite full after the meal. my friends and i shared some food so we could try more things on the menu. -starter: not too sure which two cured meats we had but they paired well with the hard cheese and bread. i don't like blue cheese but tried a small piece and it wasn't too pungent! -appetizer: baked brie was delicious with the melty salty and savory cheese in a crispy puff pastry. my friends got the pork belly but it did not pull apart easily and they only gave us a butter knife which did not cut through the meat so we needed to ask our server for a steak knife -entree: sauce for the boeuf bordelaise was delicious along with the potato puree, beatss and onions -dessert: bread pudding was delicious, pretty sweet and heavy but somehow i finished it all on the reservation i put the occasion down as a birthday so they gave us a birthday treat with a cute cup of vanilla ice cream and even lit a candle. our server did not really check in with us much but we had great service from i believe a few hosts, staff dressed in suits and with a mic, who came around more often and were able to help us with various things. overall a fun experience trying different foods i typically don't eat in a nice ambience on the rooftop of DTLA.

Went here the other night with some friends for DineLA. Had been a few times before but never reviewed Perch for some reason Either way, had a reservation so seating was easy. Be aware, like some restaurants, until your entire party is present, you will not be seated. So off to the bar you go until the late people arrive. So the meal began with a fromage and charcuterie. There were four different meats on the board, a couple cheeses with fruit, nuts and a sour cherry mustard. For a charcuterie, this was actually pretty tasty and the sour cherry mustard was very good. Appetizers came out and I had the pork belly. I personally live a good crispy outside to my own belly with that dust, just middle. This didn't have that crispness that I like, and it was a fattier piece, so it could have been better. The frisee was nice tho to add some texture to the dish. Entree I ordered the bouef bordelaise which considered it braised short rib with a garlic potato puree. The short rib was seasoned well and fell apart in your mouth. Just a nice bite. As for the Chilean sea bass, it was nice and moist on the inside but was missing that crispy skin on the outside. Finally with dessert, the white chocolate bread pudding was alright, it had it's flavor but really didn't stand out. The creme brulee was also decent but the brulee sugar on top could have been harder. Overall, great ambiance, fast service and quality food. Everything didn't work out for the food, but some things were just personal preferences. That being said, you can't really go wrong with a dinner at Perch.

When arriving at Perch, it is located in the Pershing Square Building. There is no parking lot specifically for the Perch, but I believe they do have a valet option, or you can park at a lot around the corner for about $15-$20 just a short walk away! When you walk in you will be directed to take a few elevators up to the 15th floor where the restaurant is located. I would HIGHLY recommend making reservations in advance because they get super busy, especially for brunch! The vibe is so chill. The seating is kind of tight and they have indoor and outdoor seating. You have a whole view of DTLA! Their menu isn't huge, but every option is crafted with love. We think that each time that we've been they do give you a good portion size for the price, as well as the ambiance taken into consideration. We've ordered the Two Eggs any Style, Huevos Rancheros, Steak Frites, and Shrimp Scampi. The two eggs brunch plate was delicious! The eggs were cooked to perfection, the potatoes were my favorite part and the chicken sausage was very flavorful and juicy. The Huevos Rancheros is HUGE! All of the flavors combine together making it an ultimate choice for brunch! The shrimp scampi was very creamy, and it had a good amount of shrimp! The sauce tasted very rich! The steak frites had a really flavorful taste and the fries were so addictive! Overall each visit we had to the Perch was amazing. We love to try new items each time! The service is extraordinary, and we love the views! The prices are a little on the expensive end but we think it's worth it! If you're looking for a brunch place in DTLA check this out!

A 3.5, rounding up to 4. Located on the corner overlooking Pershing Square in DTLA, it's an ideal place for a gathering, special occasions or just drinks at their outdoor lounge area. We've been curious about Perch and finally went in December of '24. First, the parking. Depending on when you go, you might get lucky and snag a street spot. Be aware of sketchy people at night. Or there are several garages nearby. You can calm Perch to see if they validate or have special rates for the one across the street. Or use a parking app. We got street parking a block away. By the entrance, a guard will instruct you to take the elevator to the 13th Fl. Then other staff will guide you yo a different elevator to the restaurant. There's a couple of vintage style sofas for waiting. The interior is dark, vintage chic and has some lounge/ upbeat vibes with music playing. Some larger tables are on the main dining room, and smaller ones are out on the covered patio. We were a small party, so our table had a nice view of Pershing Square and the surrounding buildings. Food: * Gnocchi was al dente in a creamy pesto sauce. Quite good. 4/5 * Loup de Mer was a lighter dish with a perfectly cooked flounder. 4/5 * Boeuf Bordelaise, the short rib was so tender, it almost fell apart on its own weight. A nice, rich fish but the flavor didn't penetrate all the way through the thick meat. 3.75/4 * Bacon Mac & Cheese as a side. Rich, creamy and salty. The bacon flavor also stood out. 4.25/5. Food overall, was good. The view and ambiance matched it well, but for such a decent place, the service was severely lacking. There wasn't a single person we encountered that was friendly, inviting, personable nor went even a tiny step beyond what they're required to do. It seems like there was a job description, and no one took a step to cross that line. Maybe it was an off night or they were short staffed, who knows, but our curiosity was filled. Personally I feel more comfortable in a restaurant with better service. One that leaves a nice impression and makes us want to go back with more people.
